I went to a really fun concert last night. It was the Classical Mystery Tour which features Beatles music performed by some of the original cast members of the Broadway show Beatlemania with backup provided by the Arkansas Symphony.
I know there are a lot of “old hippies” out there and as one old hippy to another, I can definitely recommend this show. If you are like me and have a teenager who is also a Beatles fan it is something you can both enjoy together.
The band sounds like the Beatles and being backed by a full orchestra makes the music sound as good as, or better than, the original recordings. As one of the singers pointed out, the Beatles never got to perform live with an orchestra, so you can enjoy an experience that was never available to a Beatles audience.
